BORN IN AMERICA LOVED AROUND THE WORLD

THE BLUES & BEYOND

Europe's love for the sound of the blues is due to the nature of its inception and the role it has played on our musical culture since. The sounds of the American born blues is intertwined with a combination of traditions between African and European folk music, set to the back drop of the great American landscape. The blues has been a major influence on many different genres, including country, roots, soul, rock and roll; the sounds of Americana. The blues is known for its soulful, emotive vocals and its acoustic or electric, improvisational guitar style, constantly evolving throughout the decades.

The global reach of music of all types isn’t out of the ordinary these days, with the growing ubiquity of streaming services and social networking. It is evident there is a stong resurgence in European artists paying homage to the likes of blues, folk, bluegrass, country and rock & roll! Alongside our American counterparts finding new audiences and performing throughout the U.K. and Europe, feels like echoes of previous movements like the British Invasion, when acts like The Animals and Rolling Stones adopted American blues and R&B.

At Gulf Coast Records Europe it is our ambition to aid in the preservation, evolution and celebration of this transatlantic community that this music has and continues to provide.
